INFORMATION NOTICE ON TRANSITION TO NEW STANDARD VERSIONS

ISO 9001:2026, ISO 14001:2026

Sistemų registras, UAB informs that on April 15, 2026, the international standard ISO 14001:2026 was published, replacing the standard ISO 14001:2015, and on September 16, 2026, the international standard ISO 9001:2026, replacing the standard ISO 9001:2015.

The Global Accreditation Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as Global ACI) officially published the transitional requirements for these standards in the documents TRANSITION REQUIREMENTS FOR ISO 9001:2026, Global ACI-TECH-3-TR 2029-09-30 (M) and TRANSITION REQUIREMENTS FOR ISO 14001:2026, Global ACI-TECH-3-TR 2029-04-30 (M) published on September 4, 2026.

Certificates issued according to the standards ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 cease to be valid:

ISO 9001:2015 – 30 September 2029

ISO 14001:2015 – 30 April 2029

Certificates confirming compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015, as well as those confirming compliance with ISO 9001:2026 and ISO 14001:2026, remain valid until the specified date.

The transition to new versions of the standards takes place during a planned surveillance or recertification audit or during an unscheduled audit.

In cases where the management systems of the client organization complying with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2026, ISO 14001:2026 standards will be checked during a scheduled surveillance audit or an unscheduled audit and a positive decision to issue a certificate will be made, the validity period of this certificate will remain the same as specified in the certificates issued to the client organization in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 standards.

If a certified organization decides not to switch to the updated version of the ISO 9001:2026 standard during a recertification or surveillance audit, JSC "Sistemų registras" may conduct an audit according to the previous version of the standard (in the case of recertification until March 31, 2028). In such cases, the client’s certificate confirming compliance with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard will cease to be valid after the end of the transition period, i.e. September 30, 2029, including in cases where the certificate indicates a later certificate validity date.

If a certified organization decides not to transition to the updated version of the ISO 14001:2026 standard during a recertification or surveillance audit, Sistemų registras, UAB may conduct an audit according to the previous version of the standard (in the case of recertification until 31 October 2027). In such cases, the client’s certificate confirming compliance with the requirements of the ISO 14001:2015 standard will cease to be valid after the end of the transition period, i.e. 30 April 2029, including in cases where the certificate indicates a later certificate validity date.

Initial and recertifications to ISO 9001:2015 will no longer be carried out from 31 March 2028. Initial and re-certifications according to ISO 14001:2015 will no longer be carried out from October 31, 2027.

Certified organizations must supplement or amend their quality and environmental management system documents in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2026 and ISO 14001:2026. Organizations must submit updated management system documents to the certification body as specified in Section 4 of the certification body's "Certification Regulations" ("Certification Regulations" are available on the website of JSC "Sistemų registras" www.sertifikuoti.lt).
